Shorin Ryu Karate

There are many styles of karate, but at Haley's Martial Arts, we train in the art of Shorin Ryu. Shorin Ryu was developed on the islands of Okinawa, Japan hundreds of years ago.  We are proud of the lineage in Shorin Ryu Shorinkan and it is our mission to continue the proliferation of this beautiful and ancient art.

Hanshi Doug Perry and Kyoshi Pat Haley, President and Vice-President, respectively, of the North American Shorinkan Association, are responsible for maintaining the integrity of Shorin Ryu in the United States, maintaining their martial arts schools. In order to remain true to the art of Shorin Ryu, Kyoshi Haley travels to Naha, Okinawa at least once a year to train with his instructor, Shugoro Nakazato.
